A mega winter sports complex, to rival Super Borovets, has been projected in the Rhodopes Mountains (southern Bulgaria). The ski resorts Mechi Chal and Pamporovo will be linked with a new ski centre - Perelik. The intended project investment amounts to 255 million euro. For the first three years 94 million euro will be invested in the construction of 24 new lifts and about 55 km of ski runs. Yesterday Perelik project received a certificate of support from the Bulgarian Investments Agency. The project will be financed via the stock exchange. A letter of support from the DSK Bank (States Savings Bank) has already been received as well as foreign investors have shown interest. The project envisages the construction of sports facilities only, not hotels and accommodations.
